The First Day! |

Today was a great day for the Ken Broadwater Homes family. We had the tremendous honor of meeting the Lucas family this morning. Now more than ever, I can’t wait to start putting the pieces of their dream home together!
We had so much fun working with everyone today from the production company to Chic Fil-A who came out to feed 100 of us dinner. We were blessed with a clear and beautiful day. Even when it started getting really cold as the evening approached our spirits were still high. The Daily Grind in Farmville was generous enough to bring us all coffee and has committed to serving us coffee all week.
As I was chatting with Mr. Lucas, I asked him if the guys over there in his unit needed anything in particular to make them feel a little more at home. I learned that it actually gets pretty cold over there in Iraq. Turns out the guys over there really need hand warmers, gloves and socks in addition to basic toiletries. We will be collecting these items, as well as Christmas cards and letters on site all week.

I check this site a couple of times a day to find info on the progress. I am so proud of Gary, Missy, Max and Rhonda and all the others who are there fulfilling such a need and in return they all will be richly blessed.
