We Are Finished!
I want to thank all the contractors, who when asked, committed themselves and their companies to help us build the Lucas family a new home.

Some of these are the people we use on every home we build,

Like Jonathan Speas of Speas Excavating, who spent hours upon hours clearing and grading the site.

Keith Hertzler of American Dirtworkx, who teamed up with Don Benson to dig our footings as well as run every piece of equipment we had on site whenever it was needed.

Jim Avery and Allen Green of Superior Walls, who provided not only the foundation walls but also the crane for demo and setting our trusses.

Kenny White, Timmy Worley and Jay Lima, three framing crews working like a machine. Good job guys.

Matt Beachy of Beachy Masonry, who returned to the site three times to lay the brick for the foundation, chimneys and porch piers.

Jeff Layne of Layne’s Construction who coordinated with Bob of RSW inc to come up with a 30 man siding team.

Delorm Mahaffey from Richmond Decorating who was responsible for all the Hardwood and ceramic floor covering, not to mention Jeff Heckle and Rick McClintock also of Richmond Decorating for installing one of the best looking kitchens I have ever seen.

Juan of Cascante Contracting who installed all the shingles.

Tim Dickson of TKKL Construction not only supplied and installed the metal roof but also help frame the porches as well as install the cornice on the Collection room.

Mark Borum of Borum Plumbing, Electric and HVAC sent two separate crews of men to install of all the Plumbing, Heating and central air.

It was a pleasure to work with Mark Southall and his wife. Mark runs CEC electric. He must have had thirty electricians on site and to watch these men work in harmony, not only with themselves, but with all the HVAC men and plumbers, was something to see.

Crittenden Drywall Company, led by Andrew Cochrin installed and finished the sheetrock in about seven hours.

N. Chasen Painting, under the supervision of Jackie painted more than 40 colors on this home. Professionals all the way.

Ron Stitzer of complete Interior Package installed all the door hardware, bath fixtures and mirrors.

There are so many people who I depended on, Like Red Heis, Dave Grubbs (SGT) Shane (The Major) Mike Morgan, Randy Hunt and Danny, we wouldn’t have material on site if not for you guys in the stage area.

Let us not forget the beautiful job by Carolyn Bowman of the Farmer’s Daughter Landscaping, or the stamped concrete sidewalks by Jeremy Lehman.

Steve Benson, Every time I looked up he was there. Porch decking, framing, handrails. You were a life saver.

This project also would not have been possible if not for the hundreds of other volunteers who provided the manpower necessary to accomplish each task, as well as those individuals who prepared and served the hundreds of meals each day that gave us the energy to keep pressing forward.

I’m sure there will be some people I may leave out, but not on purpose. It has been a true pleasure working with each and every one of you and it would not have been done without you.

Thanks again,

Ken
